A Short Overview of the Game & Everything You Need to Play
Hollow Land is a tale of mystery and adventure, set in an alternate steampunk version of our history. It is a tale of underdogs and giants, fantasy and technology, dreams and nightmares, in which, together with a ragtag group of adventurers, you will travel the continents, trying to find the artifacts that may change the course of history – and time itself.
The game is inspired by stories about rebels and dreamers who dared to go off the beaten track, and by weird and wonderful historical facts, but you don’t have to be a history buff to enjoy Hollow Land (though we’ve hidden a lot of our favorite Victorian heroes and villains in the story for everyone who does enjoy that sort of thing). Think books, movies and comics like Adèle Blanc-Sec, Penny Dreadful, The Glass Books of the Dream Eaters, Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and the tales of Jules Verne.
The Quickstart Guide will take you to the Hague, the Netherlands in 1869 where our adventurers will immediately find themselves in the middle of mystery, murder and mayhem. If you choose to continue the adventure with the Hollow Land main campaign, the world is open to your adventurers and they will be free to explore the continents by zeppelin, carriage or steam ship. They may even find themselves in worlds and places that aren’t on any maps known to man.
Be careful though, because more than one powerful organization has their gaze fixed on the adventurers. And they will do everything they can to keep pulling the strings they’ve pulled for so, so very long.
